IISM Orientation Program 2024: Welcoming the Students of Sports Management & Sports Science
IISM has welcomed its new batch of Sports Management and Sports Science 2024 on its 14th Orientation Program.
A new chapter begins.
The Orientation Program has many beaming faces with eyes full of dreams and hearts full of hope. The enthusiasm of new students of Sports Management & Sports Science sparked the beginning of a new academic year.
The parents too, motivated their wards by attending the events along with them. Held at Rang Sharda Auditorium, the program started with an inspiring nudge, playing “National Anthem by The Sports Heroes”, on the stage. The video produced by IISM reverberated the energy around the hall.
Moreover, our Chief guest, Indian Cricketer Shardul Thakur, and the guest of honor, wellness Guru Dr. Mickey Mehta graced the events with their appearances and wise words.
Narratives That Inspired The Young Minds.
Young minds always look up to their idols, and what could be a better occasion than this to inspire the youth? Today’s youth get inspiration from narratives, not mere stories. And that’s why, students glued to those moments when Shardul Thakur shared about his struggle in his early cricketing journey, his ODI experiences, injuries, and comeback.
Also, he shared how he remained self-motivated or improved his fitness and continued to excel in his performance.
He narrated obstacles that came in the way of his life, but he overcame them with consistency & hard work. He also advised the students not to give up on their dreams and not to be satisfied when it comes to succeeding in life. He also delightfully answered questions asked by each student.
He got nostalgic while sharing how Ajit Agarkar guided him in his hard time and M.S Dhoni mentored him in matches. However, fun moments too happened when our founder Mr.Nilesh Kulkarni asked him to choose between Rohit Sharma & M S Dhoni.
These life lessons are the major takeaways for students to keep growing.
“The sky is large enough to accommodate all the stars that you have within you.” The fitness coach Dr. Mickey Mehta uplifted the atmosphere in the auditorium with his inspiring speech.
Not to mention, our founding director Mr. Nilesh Kulkarni showed our new cohorts a different perspective of modern learning & AI technology.
Inspirational Message From Our Founding Director:
IISM believes in empowering young minds. Mr. Nilesh Kulkarni addressed the current AI scenario in a unique way with every student present that day. He advised them not to depend on AI tools as they limit the creativity of a human brain. And to push boundaries in life and to know yourself better, ‘one must be creative’, he put across his thoughts.
Above all, he suggested students spend more time on books, get out of their comfort zones, and respect others’ time. While encouraging the students, he stated, “Sports Industry is such a fantastic industry to build a career”, and motivated them to be the ‘extraordinary’ in the room. After all, each possesses talents that can create great value in their professional journey.

Here comes ISELP, (International Sports Experiential Learning Program) which will let you explore the global overview of the sports business. That means experiencing everything from visiting world-famous stadiums to witnessing live football matches and meeting with international sports business professionals.
This year too, IISM is planning to take students on an International Educational Tour. But this time, we have asked the students to choose the destination between Spain and UK.
