Star Sports Show : Asia Cup Experience
On 23rd September 2018, I got an opportunity to be a part of the studio audience at the Star Sports studio in Mumbai to experience the pre-match show covering the India – Pakistan super 4 clash of the Asia Cup 2018.
A huge mention to the International Institute of Sports & Management for providing an opportunity to be a part of this wonderful experience. This was a combination of a great learning perspective and a series of fan moments with the experts at the Star Sports studio.
Getting to the important part first, there were decent learning attributes associated with the experience. Sports Media is a huge sector consisting of multiple sub-domains, being one of the biggest stakeholders contributing to the Sports Industry and who better than Star Sports explain the type of processes involved behind broadcasting content to a massive audience.
This also helped me understand the possible problems that one faces in the field of broadcasting. A Sports presenter cannot miss a single stat to cover while discussing the pre-match analysis as well as needs to make sure he is well prepared about the toss result, team changes and other news, since he has to instantly talk to the experts after the toss is finished.
The job of a presenter does sound fancy, but it is rather complicated. One of the many reasons I feel this is because he has to talk to the experts and the director at the same time which is very difficult.
Now coming to the fan moments, meeting the experts was really special for me, being a huge cricket fan. These experts are legends of the game who have inspired people on the field before and now doing the same off the field. With an engaging platform that Star Sports offers, I did interact with the experts on Social Media but meeting them in person was an amazing moment for me.
