IISM’s Knowledge Series Books to Build a Career in Sports Industry
International Institute of Sports & Management (IISM) is the pioneer of sports management education in India. IISM has been in the education industry providing excellent sports management education to students for the past 14 years.
IISM was bestowed with the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar in the category of Development of Sports in 2020, by the Hon. President of India, Shri. Ram Nath Kovindji.

Objective of the ‘Knowledge Series Books’
The main objective behind the books launched under the IISM’s ‘Knowledge series’ is to create an elaborated material on the sports industry in the Indian context.
These books will surely be the stepping stones for the sports enthusiasts, athletes, coaches and all the people who have an interest in making a career in sports.
Currently, there are hardly any literary handbooks on sports in Indian sports literature, and these books will surely fill this void to transform the sports scenario in India.

The first book under the ‘Knowledge Series’ is ‘Business of Sports: The Winning Formula for Success’, authored by Mr Vinit Karnik, Head – Sports, Esports & Entertainment at GroupM South Asia, released in June 2022. The book was launched by the esteemed hands of Shri. Bhagat Singh Koshyari Ji, Governor of Maharashtra and (ex-officio) Chancellor of the University of Mumbai, at Raj Bhavan in the presence of Mr. Nilesh Kulkarni, Founder Director- IISM, the book’s author Mr. Vinit Karnik and other marketing heads & academicians from top B-schools of Mumbai.

– Objective of the book ‘Business of Sports: The Winning Formula for Success’
This book will guide aspiring sports management students to create a path for a flourishing career. The book covers diverse aspects of the sports industry exploring the business side of sports along with the challenges for both customers and marketers.

The launch of the book took place at the IISM’s campus during the first sports psychologists’ conference, Mind The Gap 2024, organised by the Indian Sport Psychologists’ Association (INSPA).
The book launch was graced by the presence of Mr. Viren Rasquinha, CEO of Olympic Gold Quest and a former captain of Indian field hockey, Mr. Nilesh Kulkarni, former Indian Cricketer and Founder Director of the International Institute of Sports & Management (IISM) and Ms. Vardayini Gorhe, Sports and Performance Psychologist.
