IISM at Khelo India Youth Games 2020
IISM is proud to be the Official Knowledge Partner to the recently concluded Khelo India Youth Games, Guwahati, Assam 2020, in its third edition. The Games commenced from 10 January to 22 January 2020 wherein close to 6,800 athletes from 37 states and union territories competed across 20 sports disciplines and the games were spread across nine venues in Guwahati, Assam.
Being the official Knowledge Partner to KIYG 2020, 15 IISM Students worked with Sports Authority of India (SAI). They handled diverse range of responsibilities in different departments like Marketing, Branding, Media, Sports Presentation, Accommodation, Catering and Transportation. They were also coordinating with Secretariat and looking after State Coordination and Volunteer Management. Also, these students curated Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Manual on Operations Structure at SAI. Besides this, more than 35 IISM Students looked after State Coordination and Venue Overlays.
We are proud that all of the 50+ students worked diligently and tirelessly at the event. The future Sports Management professionals from IISM did a colossal job to ensure smooth execution of Khelo India Youth Games 2020. IISM places equal emphasis on classroom and practical learning. Students get invaluable learning lessons at events like KIYG. This is where they face the thrills and chills of Sports Management Industry.
Khelo India is an empowering initiative by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India to revive sports culture, to give young sportspersons an opportunity to shine and encourage India towards becoming a sporting nation. For ten years now, IISM is striving towards contributing in developing India as a global sporting superpower by training Sports Management heroes who would engage in representing India on a global map in leading sporting events. Sports instills leadership skills, team building, analytical thinking and risk taking. This common thread between IISM & Khelo India is a strong synergy.
