IISM is India’s first of its kind & pioneer in Sports Management Education. We aim at providing a deeper perspective to the ideas and practice of management to the students.

The stringent admission process at IISM aids in thorough scrutiny. The process has been specifically designed to accommodate students who can be transformed into astute thought leaders, ready to take on the challenges of the sports corporate world, both in India and abroad.

The admission process comprises of 2 stages that facilitates in understanding the candidate’s liking & awareness towards the sports industry & their acumen for the business side of sports.

Admission Process

Bachelor Degree Eligibility

Bachelor of Sports Management:-

BSM eligibility- Aspirants must have completed Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 40% in all the subjects.

Bachelor of Sports Science:-

Aspirants must have scored an aggregate of 40% in 10+2 (Science) passed with Physics, Chemistry, Biology of any State Board/ CBSE/ ISC, or A-Level, IB, American 12th Grade, or equivalent, or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto.

Masters Degree Eligibility

Master of Sports Management:-

Aspirants must have successfully completed his/ her graduation in any field with 40% in all the subjects.

Master of Sports Science:-

Aspirants must have completed graduation with a minimum aggregate of 40% in Life Science or Biological Science, MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, any allied paramedical fields, BPED and MPED degrees, or a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science.

Post Graduate Program in Sports Management:-

Aspirants must have successfully completed his/ her graduation in any field with 40% in all the subjects.

International Institute of Sports Management follows a Holistic Admission Process in order to admit students in the Sports Management programs. This admission process is to assess an aspirant on various parameters giving him/her a fair opportunity to showcase their competence. Through this process, IISM intends to select students who have the right potential, attitude and aptitude for the Sports Management Industry. In accordance with the eligibility guidelines, an aspirant has to go through two stages to be securing admission at IISM.

The Admission Process at IISM comprises of Stage I and Stage II

Stage 01 –

Stage I of the Admission Process for Master’s Degree & PGPs at IISM complete in two steps: 1) Caselets 2) SMAT & Overall Performance

Stage 1 of the Admission Process for Bachelor’s Degree at IISM complete in two steps: 1) Essay 2) SMAT & Overall Performance

Caselets (for MSM & PGPs) is the first step in Stage I of the Admission Process. Here, an aspirant would receive 4 topics over an email. Each topic holds 20 marks for itself. Aspirants will be given two days to submit their Caselets back on the email Id: caselets@iismworld.in. Caselets comprise a total of 80 marks and would be evaluated by an expert invigilator.

About Caselets:

The Caselets are designed to extract and evaluate the best of knowledge of the aspirant. It consists of cases- that will give a fair idea on how aspirants think, their outlook towards circumstances, knowledge on current affairs and proficiency in making Plan of Action.

Through Caselets, we intend to estimate how would aspirants react to or take an action on situations that he’d face in the rapidly evolving Sports Management sector. The test is specially designed for the students from any educational and geographical background, who have keen interest in sports and have desire to make a career in sports management. This exam is conducted online & candidates will have to appear for this round from home.

Essay (for BSM) in Stage I is a step wherein aspirants will have to share an Essay on a particular topic given. This consist of 80 marks.

Aspirants will be given two days to submit their essay on the email Id: essay@iismworld.in

This will be evaluated by an expert invigilator.

The second step consists of Overall Performance & SMAT

The Overall Performance considers the Academic score, Sports Achievements & Extra-curricular Activities for 20 marks.

Stage 02 –

This Stage will be an online, Video-Call based Personal Interview for 120 marks.

The total weightage of Stage I and Stage II will be 300. Aspirants needs to score 60% cumulative of Stage I and Stage II in order to secure Admission at IISM.

The final offer letter will be reflected on the candidate’s dashboard.

Each candidate having passed Stage I & Stage II will be given one week to pay their fees and confirm their Admission at IISM.

For Sports Science, the admission criteria delves deeper into scientific aptitude, research skills, and a passion for sports and human physiology. Like sports management, the admission process follows a comprehensive two stage process to filter out the talented and deserving candidates.

Stage 1:

The Stage 1 of the admission process comprises a total score of 180. This score comprises three components: 80 for our online entrance exam Sports Science Admissions Test (SSAT), 80 for Statement of Purpose and 20 for Overall Performance.

About SSAT:

SSAT is an online entrance test to apply for admission at IISM. The test focuses on candidate’s scientific aptitude, research skills, and passion for sports and human physiology, ensuring the selection of top-tier sports science enthusiasts.

The questions asked in SSAT for Bachelor of Sports Science are-
  • Logical Reasoning & Verbal Ability (20 marks),
  • Sports Intellect (16 marks),
  • Physics (12 marks),
  • Chemistry (12 marks),
  • Biology (20 marks)
The questions asked in SSAT for Master of Sports Science are-
  • Human Anatomy / Physiology / Biomechanics (20 marks),
  • Logical Reasoning (20 marks),
  • History of Sports / Acts / Laws (20 marks),
  • Verbal Reasoning / Verbal Ability (20 marks)
About Statement of Purpose:

In the SOP the candidate has to introduce their academic field of interest, their education background in sports, industrial exposure or coaching undertaken any professional, reasons for opting to make a career in sports science, long term goals and what skills they wish to learn from this degree program.

Aspirants would be assessed on the basis of Overall Performance including academic scores, sports achievements & extra-curricular activities. The candidates must attach supporting documents of achievements while applying for SSAT online.

The candidate has to score 50% in Stage 1 in order to be qualified for Stage 2. The student can re-apply for SSAT in case they are unable to clear the Stage 1.

Stage 2:

Once, the aspirants secure a minimum of 50% in the first stage of the admission process, the shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for the Panel Interaction round that holds a weightage of 120 marks. The PI round will be conducted online, so the aspirants can appear for it from their homes.

An aspirant needs to score a minimum 60% of cumulative of Stage 1 & Stage 2 in order to get qualified for the final admission and letter of selection from the Institute.

This was the admission process for Sports Science degree programs.

SMAT-

Sports Management Admission Test Entrance exam will be for 80 Marks and will comprise the following:

  • Quantitative Analysis
  • Data Interpretation
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Verbal Reasoning
  • Verbal Ability
  • Sports Awareness
MAH-MBA / MMS CET :

Master of Sports Management, PGP in Sports and Wellness Management & PGP in Sports Event Management aspirants can apply with their MAH-CET scores and will get a waiver from appearing for SMAT Entrance exam.

Candidate needs to score minimum 50% in Stage 1 to qualify for the Stage 2
Stage 2 -Panel Interview will be for 120 Marks
Candidate needs to score minimum of 60% cumulative of Stage 1 & 2 to secure admission at IISM
A candidate needs to attach supporting documents of achievements while applying for SMAT online
Students can re-apply for SMAT in case they are unable to clear the stage 1
Since the students would be securing admissions before their final results for HSC/Graduation would be out, their admissions would be considered on provisional basis and it’s only after the submission of their final passing exam document that their admissions would be confirmed, as per GICED & University of Mumbai guidelines.
